How to encourage kids to learn?

Don’t we all have numerous example in front of us to show that all geniuses aren’t born in school? Some of them are remembered today because they did something different with their own will and out of their inquisitiveness. For example, Albert Einstein.

Kids Learning

Now you understand!!

However, we try our best to make our kids learned people at school and to top it off, tuitions do the rest. Well, that’s not how things work if you really want them to work.

Your little one will learn when he/she will love to do the same. If there’s nothing that attracts them or amuses them, it won’t be of your type. The pressure of not doing well at school because of lack of interest will create anxiety issues in your child and create more problems.

So, that’s why we’ve compiled a list of ways with which you can help your child love to learn things.

1. Entertain their questions

You have been there and you’ve done that too. You’ve eaten your parent’s brain by asking a series of ‘how’, ’why’, ’what’, ’when’ and so on. Likewise, your child will also reach a stage (when he’ll be 2-4 years) that he’ll be all about the questions. LET THEM ASK QUESTIONS. You need to be concerned if he isn’t asking, but if he is - pay attention and answer them well. Why?? Because what you say and how to react will be the answer to the question for them.

2. Connect their interests with teaching

There are certain things that every parent should teach their kids. However, if you teach them in a way that kids love, nothing would be better than that. For example, simple maths questions can be taught with the help of food items that they love to eat. Likewise, kids online shopping would help them learn about colors, choices, personality and more. Hence, try to connect the learning with what they love.

3. Allow mistakes but rectify them

Mistakes are a part of life but the way you treat them is what brings out the better person. When your child makes a mistake, you DO NOT have to scold him or shout at him or even raise your hand. Just sit down calmly and make the whole situation understood to him and the consequences. Amidst all this, you also have to make sure that you DO NOT ignore the mistake and look past it.

4. Give treats when the results are positive

Positive reinforcement is quite necessary for your kid to understand the difference between the good learning and the wrong learning. Give them good food, tutu dress, boys t-shirt, an outing or anything that serves as a good reinforcement for your child. This way, the love for learning will be encouraged.
