5 Practical tips to build a strong fashion sense in your kids

two little girls

You are your kid’s role models. Talking about the fashion sense, kids develop the basic fashion sense at an early age, approximately during their adolescent age group. They develop an affinity for fashion and have clear personal preferences for color palettes and how they want to style their hair and wear their clothes. You, as a parent, should be working towards building up fashion sense that moves ahead making them be a stylish personality.

The question is - how would you do that?

This blog talks about the practical tips that build a strong fashion sense in your kids.

1. Set the basics right

The basics of dressing sense in kids would be more like what to wear when to wear and how to carry what you’re wearing and more. It is like when you look forward to dressing in a way, your child will follow you. My daughter is 2.5 and she is in love with clothes shopping. Every time we go out she’d always say “mummy kapda dilao” meaning “mom buy me clothes”. She loves to dress and wants to do everything that she sees me doing. From applying kohl to moisturizer and more.

So, be the ideal role model to set the basics right.

2. Teach them the artistic side of dressing

Once your child understands how kids fashion dresses are worn, you can always move ahead to make them understand how they can always give an artistic turn to the same. Moreover, what matters is that when they grab something unusual or assemble their party wear, they should be confident enough to wear it and walk around in the same. Accessorizing would be the artistic touch to their outfits as well. For example, a tutu dress can be worn with a tiara or a boys t-shirt & jeans can be clubbed with sunglasses and more.

3. Maintain the boundaries

You don’t have to always say “yes”. Sometimes you have to tell them that “this is not for you” or “this will not look good on you and you should change your choice” and more. You have to be strict also (sometimes). After all, you don’t want to make your child follow celebrities like Miley Cyrus (the-now version) and others. Hence, make sure boundaries are set.

4. Reinforcement is necessary

Appreciate kids

When your child makes a perfect choice of clothes, make sure you appreciate them. Moreover, you can give them a treat (reinforcement) to give them the heads up to continue doing such things. Fashion is an art and you have to build it up eventually. When your child is on the way - the right way to put things in place, you should appreciate them.

5. Keep the inspiration coming

Talk about fashion and make sure you introduce your kids with kids fashion dresses online to give them the exposure of what options do they have in today’s time. They’ll be able to choose better if they know better and that’s where you step in.

Is bonding with your kid important? Know how to do it for good

The process of bonding with a newborn baby come in quite naturally for a mother. When the first time she holds the child in her arms, close to her body providing the warmth that is needed to make the baby feel secure and so much more. That feeling is the bond that is created without putting in a lot of efforts. With the passage of time, there are times when in the process of giving a good life to the kid parents focus more on work rather than the child itself, things start to fall apart.

With the baby spending more time with the nanny rather than the parents, life gets hectic and stressful. Do you sometimes feel that connection missing? Do you want to mend things with your sugar-bun?

This blog will lay down the ways with which your bonding with your child will grow stronger and more lovingly.

1. Give more time

At first, your child might just push you away or be in complete ignorance as he/she hasn’t seen you around for a while, but start spending quality time with them. In the growing up years, life gets very hectic, but you have take out time for family if you want them to be around.

2. Apologize

The next thing you got to do when life starts to settle down is apologizing to your kid for not being around. Talk to them about why you weren’t there and promise them that you will be available whenever they need you the most. An apology will open the way for you to be accepted by them on every ground.

3. Hang out together

Spending quality time would be a bigger aspect, but hanging out with each other will mend the bond and build it stronger. Why not enjoy the parenthood by shopping kids fashion dresses online or going out for a treat in your kid’s favorite restaurant or something else? Hanging out would be a time of jelling up together and getting to understand your munchkin better.

4. Do something different

Repair your bond by replacing the negative conversations with something positive and helpful. Have patience to whatever comes out of the mouth of your baby and listen to it carefully. There’ll be something that if mended would make your relationship better. It may take time for this new behavior to become a habit. In the meantime, give yourself permission to be a “work in progress.”

Find something positive every day and keep on trying to be the parent your kid wants you to be.
