Congratulations to be the proud parents. Some new parents go haphazardly when the seasons change. You should know that babies grow fast and spending a lot of money for them at that moment is utter foolishness. The growth rate of the little one really fast and you never know that the by the time you pick one boys party wear he’ll outgrow it. Hence, it is best not to spend oodles of money on outfits in the smallest sizes. In the first few weeks, your baby needs clothes that are comfortable and easy to get on and off.
1. Newborn clothes: sizes
You should know those baby clothes comes in sizes depending on their age groups. From ‘size 000’ which is denoted as Age 0 - 12 months and gradually it increases as the age of the baby increases. From 0 months to 12 years old, this is the kid’s age group. Some bigger newborns might be ready to go straight into a size 12-1year. You might have to roll the sleeves up, but it won’t be for long.
Sizes vary between types of clothes and manufacturers, so it’s worth comparing kids fashion dresses to other garments you already have, rather than relying only on the size of the label.
Because babies really do grow very fast, you might want to try buying the minimum number of clothes in each size. Keep the party dresses for boys for later and focus on the comfort of the little one.
2. How many clothes does a newborn need?
You’ll need plenty of changes of clothes. As a guide, the following will see you through for a newborn baby:
- LOTS and lots of diapers
- A couple of singlets/onesies
- Numerous jumpsuits
- Three t-shirts and shirts (t-shirts more than the shirts)
- Three cotton bunny rugs and three muslin (gauze) wraps
- A couple of cotton hats for the summer heat
- A few pairs of socks
3. What kinds of clothes do newborns need?
Stretchy onesies with button flaps from top to bottom. You should avoid zippers in every possible case. This would some day or the other be a problem for you.
Do not go for tricky dresses. Well, every dress is tricky to put up and take off when you have a newborn because they are delicate.
The fabric of the ethnic wear for kids or even the rompers should be absolutely soft. The comfort is everything for the baby who’s just born and is only about a few weeks or months.
